After 5 years of development, a Russian developer has released Humanica, a city-building simulator about the path of human development

Players will guide their civilization through several historical epochs.

At the start of March, Humanica made its debut on Steam via Early Access. This ambitious city-building simulator is the creation of a solo indie developer.

The experience challenges players to establish a thriving settlement from the ground up. Survival and growth depend on foraging, crafting essential tools, mastering agriculture, managing livestock, and eventually advancing to bronze and iron smelting:

Gameplay in Humanica is structured around a daily cycle. Each day acts as a strategic turn or iteration, during which your villagers have a finite capacity to perform labor and complete tasks.

Tranquility is never guaranteed; the world is perilous. Ferocious wildlife and hostile nomadic tribes frequently threaten the settlement, forcing players to prioritize fortifications and defensive strategies.

Humanica is currently projected to remain in Early Access for approximately three to six months as the developer refines the mechanics.
