Adrien Brody and Sean Penn to Star in Film About Nord Stream
Academy Award winners Adrien Brody and Sean Penn are set to reunite for an upcoming political thriller titled “Snake Island.” The casting news was first reported by the industry outlet World of Reel.
The film will dramatize the 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea near the island of Bornholm. The investigation into the incident, which occurred in September 2022, prominently features a Ukrainian national, Serhii Kuznetsov, as the primary suspect.
While specific details regarding Brody and Penn’s roles remain under wraps, the project is being helmed by director Doug Liman (known for Edge of Tomorrow). Production is currently underway in Croatia.
This collaboration marks another project for the duo, who previously appeared together in Liman’s 2010 espionage drama, Fair Game.
