Israeli‑American cinematographer Adam Greenberg has died at the age of 88, media outlets report.
Born in 1937 in Kraków, Poland, Greenberg’s credits include two installments of The Terminator (he received an Academy Award nomination for Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Kathryn Bigelow’s Near Dark, Ghost starring Patrick Swayze, Sister Act with Whoopi Goldberg, the original Rush Hour with Jackie Chan, Inspector Gadget, and more.
James Cameron, director of The Terminator, publicly offered his condolences following Greenberg’s passing.
“I could not have made my Terminator films without Adam. He taught me the narrative power of color and light. No one handled night shooting the way Adam did. I’m proud that I can work a handheld camera, but I learned that from Adam. He was a master. I know he influenced an entire generation of filmmakers… We had the opportunity to learn from him directly. We will miss his talent and his spirit,” — Deadline reports.
