Actor Robert Carradine, a mainstay of American cinema and television, has passed away at the age of 71, Variety reports.
Born in 1954, Carradine was the youngest sibling in the renowned acting dynasty that included David and Keith Carradine. Throughout a prolific career that spanned over five decades, Robert amassed more than 100 acting credits. He earned lasting fame for his iconic portrayal of Lewis Skolnick in the “Revenge of the Nerds” franchise and was beloved by younger audiences for his role as the father in the hit Disney Channel series “Lizzie McGuire.”
Carradine’s diverse filmography also featured memorable turns in John Wayne’s “The Cowboys” and the Western classic “The Long Riders.” His impressive body of work includes collaborations with some of Hollywood’s most esteemed directors, appearing in Martin Scorsese’s “Mean Streets,” Hal Ashby’s “Coming Home,” John Carpenter’s “Escape from L.A.,” and Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained.”
