Starting September 14, the historical miniseries “A Tale of Two Cities,” produced by BBC Studios, will premiere on the streaming platform viju.ru. The production features Kit Harington, best known for his iconic role in “Game of Thrones,” in a lead capacity.

This adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novel is set against the volatile backdrop of the late 18th century, amidst the burgeoning conflict between France and Britain. The story follows Lucie Manette (Mirren Mack), who makes a startling discovery: her father, long presumed dead for two decades, is actually alive and sequestered in Paris. Her only hope of locating him rests with Charles Darnay (François Civil), a French émigré currently imprisoned on charges of high treason.

To secure Darnay’s release, Lucie seeks the counsel of Sidney Carton (Harington), an eccentric attorney, drawing all three characters into an intricate love triangle. While both men contend for Lucie’s affection, they are bound together by a far more profound and unexpected connection.

The series was created by Daniel West (“Top Boy,” “Gunpowder”), with direction by Richard R. Clark, whose credits include “Doctor Who” and “Outlander.” The four-part miniseries will be available for streaming exclusively on viju.ru.
