TiGames came under fire after the Zoopunk reveal. Players pointed to a January NVIDIA video that demonstrated generative AI using a game example.
The developers responded that the project is human-made, and AI is only employed in tools that enable players to produce their own content.
All our work is original and reflects the skill and effort of our artists. AI will only be used to assist players in creating user-generated items — for example vehicle skins, clothing color schemes, and similar details. In short, AI is a supporting tool for player-driven derivative creations and for fostering the modding community.
Zoopunk was unveiled at the Xbox Partner Showcase. The trailer showcased anthropomorphic protagonists, over-the-top stunts, close-quarters combat, robotic foes, and a boss encounter. The plot centers on an artifact called the “Spark” that has been captured by a hostile faction.
Zoopunk is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
