Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake May Use FSR 1.0 Instead of DLSS on Switch 2
The rumored Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will reportedly use AMD FSR 1.0 instead of DLSS, despite the console having dedicated NVIDIA hardware for AI-powered image upscaling.
SuperMetalDave64 shared the information on X, claiming that the game uses FSR 1.0 for resolution upscaling and SMAA for edge smoothing. The information can reportedly be found in the Switch 2 settings menu after preordering or installing the game.
The choice is unexpected because the console has an NVIDIA Ampere chip with tensor cores and DLSS support. DLSS can improve image clarity without significantly increasing the load on the system, while FSR 1.0 uses a simpler spatial upscaling method. The leaker believes the difference may be insignificant for this particular game.

The remake will be released on November 5, 2026, exclusively for Switch 2.
