“You Can’t Please Everyone”: Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Developers Treat Early Access as a Full Release and Warn of Potential Issues
Developing a title within such an iconic franchise places significant responsibility on the team.
The creators of Heroes of Might and Magic Olden Era recently spoke with PC Gamer, discussing their work on the game.
Developer Katya Prikhodko said that Unfrozen treats “early access as a full release” — they don’t want to “miss their chance.”
CEO Denis Fedorov called developing the first Heroes of Might and Magic title in many years “a major responsibility,” noting that the player base is quite large and fan expectations are very high.
…we have a vision, and we hope the project will succeed and live up to expectations. There is a long road ahead, so don’t expect early access to be perfect in terms of balance — balance is always “unstable”. It’s impossible to please everyone.
The early access launch of Heroes of Might & Magic Olden Era is expected in 2026, you can add the game to your Steam wishlist using this link.
