Xbox cloud gaming is expanding: an Xbox Wire press release states that total streaming hours rose 24% year-over-year, and by 45% among Xbox owners. The company reports an increase in players launching games through the cloud rather than running them locally.

Players are streaming their gameplay more often than ever. Hours of cloud play among Game Pass subscribers increased by 45% compared with last year. Console users now spend 45% more time streaming from the cloud, while play on other devices rose by 24%.

Earlier in November, Xbox Cloud Gaming launched in India, becoming the 29th country to receive the service. Given India’s population, Microsoft expects a substantial expansion of its audience.

This week the November update for Xbox Series S/X was released, bringing several new features aimed at improving cloud gaming.
