Winners of the Window to Europe 2026 Festival Announced
The 34th “Window to Europe” Russian Film Festival has concluded in Vyborg. The Grand Prix in the feature film category was awarded to Anton Nefedov’s drama, “A Garden Behind Our House.”
Presided over by director Pavel Lungin, the jury recognized the film for its poignant portrayal of residents living in a standard apartment block in Grozny in 1994, just before the onset of the Chechen war. The cast features notable performances by Nadezhda Mikhalkova, Saveliy Kudryashov, and Guram Bablishvili, among others.
In the audience-voted “Vyborg Score” program, the dramedy “How to Survive a Marriage,” directed by Yulia Trofimova, emerged victorious, also receiving a special jury prize for its humor. Meanwhile, the Producers and Film Critics Guild selected Vladislav Malakhov’s “Dark Thoughts” as their top choice.
The complete list of winners is available on the official festival website.
