Why Solo Leveling is Likely Fortnite’s Next Major Collaboration
It appears Sung Jin-Woo is preparing for an emergency raid on the Fortnite island. Epic Games has officially begun dropping breadcrumbs for a massive Solo Leveling crossover, signaling that the “weakest Hunter” is about to make a grand entrance into the battle royale.
The game’s official X account set the stage by quoting the series’ iconic prologue: “The weakest Hunter of all mankind. E-rank. No potential. No future…” Over on Instagram Stories, the teasing continued with the fateful question, “If you were given another path, would you accept?” This text was framed against a striking blue aura, a direct nod to the supernatural energy Jin-Woo harnesses after his awakening.
For those unfamiliar with the phenomenon, Solo Leveling originated as a blockbuster South Korean manhwa written by Chugong and illustrated by the late Jang Sung-Rak. The story is set in a world where mysterious “Gates” connect Earth to deadly dungeons teeming with monsters. To combat these threats, certain humans “awaken” as Hunters. Sung Jin-Woo, initially a punchline for being the weakest E-rank Hunter in existence, survives a horrific “double dungeon” incident and gains access to the “System.” This unique power allows him to level up his stats indefinitely—a feat impossible for other Hunters—and eventually permits him to resurrect defeated enemies as loyal members of his Shadow Army.
This “Shadow Extraction” ability is likely what fans are most excited to see translated into Fortnite. Renowned leaker HypeX suggests the collaboration could launch as soon as this week. Beyond the standard Jin-Woo skin, rumors indicate that top-tier Hunter Cha Hae-in and legendary shadows like Igris or Beru could also join the item shop. Fortnite has a storied history of high-quality anime integrations—including Dragon Ball and Jujutsu Kaisen—so players are eager to see if Jin-Woo’s signature daggers and broken abilities will manifest as unique in-game Mythics.

Keep your eyes peeled for the official command to “Arise,” as this collaboration is poised to be one of the year’s biggest highlights. If you haven’t started the series yet, there is no better time; while the first season was a masterclass in tension, the recent second season has been hailed as a pinnacle of modern animation, topping many “best of” lists for 2025.
