Volga to Release Teen Melodrama “My Hooligan”
Film distributor Volga has announced the upcoming production of the feature film My Hooligan. This adaptation of Alyona Chernichnaya’s best-selling young adult novel is slated for a theatrical release in June 2028.
The story follows university students Max Olkhovsky and Olesya Sinichkina. Following a painful rejection, Lesya decides to make the object of her affection jealous by convincing the notorious playboy Max Olkhovsky to pose as her new boyfriend. Before long, their staged romance begins to evolve into genuine feelings.
Casting details for the lead roles have yet to be disclosed. The project will be produced by Sergey Ershov and Natalia Gorina. Chernichnaya’s original novel, which debuted in 2023, has already seen impressive success with over 200,000 copies sold.
