Valve to introduce CS2 case scanner for German players to reveal contents before opening
A revamped case-opening system is arriving for Counter-Strike 2 players.
The developers of Counter-Strike 2 have announced major changes to the loot box mechanics for users in Germany, introducing the mandatory use of the “X-Ray Scanner.”
This tool allows players to preview the exact contents of a case before they decide to open it:
While the loot box interface has received a visual overhaul, the fundamental experience remains the same. To scan a subsequent case, the player must first claim the current item they have already revealed through the scanner.
This strategic implementation allows Valve to bypass various regional legal restrictions and comply with local gambling regulations.
