Valve Reinstates Horror Shooter with Dead Multiplayer on Steam — No Players Online Creators Hit by False DMCA Strike

No Players Online was pulled from Steam for nearly three weeks right after release because of a DMCA filed by a former friend. He claimed to be a co‑author of the game, despite having contributed nothing. NPO was built entirely by our team from the ground up. Although we spent the last couple of months trying to show him that his accusations were baseless, he unexpectedly submitted a DMCA to Steam, and on November 13 the game was removed from the store. We immediately submitted a counter‑notice, and today the game has been reinstated because the window to respond to it elapsed.

We poured two and a half years of our lives and a significant amount of money into this game. Many people believed in us and wanted us to succeed. It’s inconceivable that someone can simply remove your game from sale by filling out a basic form, and it’s devastating to face such betrayal from someone we considered a close friend.
