Ubisoft PC Games to Launch on Steam Without Ubisoft Connect Launcher
Players have waited for this decision from Ubisoft Entertainment for many years.
Ubisoft Entertainment has recently been back in players’ thoughts following an announcement that has heavily delighted many PC and Steam users.
This is not a new game release, but rather a change in approach to how Ubisoft Entertainment launches games through Steam. Currently, opening the publisher’s games also opens the company launcher, but that will soon change.
The rollout of the new policy begins with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, as the developers test the new Ubisoft Connect Services on Steam. It is designed to power various Ubisoft game features, including cross-platform progression, crossplay, player security, challenges, rewards, and more.
According to the developers, this will eliminate the need to install or launch the Ubisoft Connect launcher.
Ubisoft states that this initial version serves as a “first step towards a smoother and more streamlined game launch experience through Steam.” The developers plan to continue refining Ubisoft Connect Services and providing players with “the services and features they use and expect, while making the Steam experience as seamless as possible.”

Ubisoft plans to gradually introduce Ubisoft Connect Services to other Steam versions of the company’s games as well.
