Ubisoft Changes Rainbow Six Siege X: Major Updates and New Mechanics
Ubisoft has published a statement for the Siege X community, acknowledging player frustration over limited communication and gameplay issues. The studio promises greater transparency and intends to tackle the community’s core concerns, prioritizing anti-cheat measures, balance adjustments, and significant changes to ranked matchmaking.
The developers conceded that the move to Free Access triggered a surge in cheating that outpaced the capabilities of their existing detection systems. Ubisoft said that, while progress has been made, additional resources have been allocated to strengthen anti-cheat operations. Without revealing technical specifics, the team confirmed they are targeting major cheat distributors and plan to permanently ban accounts exploiting known vulnerabilities.
Ubisoft will adjust balance based on player feedback. In patch 3.3, dated October 14:
- the previous nerf to Denari will be reverted;
- the Glaive-12 weapon will receive a buff;
- Solis will have impact grenades restored;
- several operators, including Thermite, Hibana, and Maverick, will be strengthened.
Ubisoft is also introducing Testing Grounds — a new space for early trials of game features. The first feature to be tested will be a reworked Armor and Speed system for operators, reflecting efforts to refine core mechanics.
The company acknowledged that Ranked 2.0 fell short of expectations. Starting in Season 4, improvements to matchmaking will be rolled out, taking player rank and team size into account.
Ubisoft closed the message by reaffirming its commitment to community-driven development and inviting continued feedback.
