Three Fields Entertainment — Wreckreation Studio Founded by Former Burnout Developers — Issues Redundancy Notices to Employees

Two months after Wreckreation’s release, Three Fields Entertainment has informed staff that the entire studio has been placed on notice for redundancy. The announcement comes via a LinkedIn post from CEO Fiona Sperry, which was also highlighted in coverage by GamesIndustry.biz. The message describes a difficult financial position that the studio can no longer sustain in its present form.

Sperry explains that, despite THQ Nordic handling publication, the development team has shouldered most of this year’s expenses and funded all post-launch content themselves. After months of subsidising ongoing work, studio leadership says it is now compelled to explore alternatives — including seeking investment or partnership — while preparing for the possibility of redundancies.

In the post Sperry expresses hope that publicising the studio’s work will attract interest from potential partners or backers, and she emphasizes pride in the team’s talent and the creative vision behind the game.

Founded in 2014 by veterans of the Burnout series, Three Fields Entertainment has produced titles such as Dangerous Golf, Lethal VR, Danger Zone 1 & 2, and Dangerous Driving. Its latest effort, Wreckreation, launched on October 28, 2025 and has received mixed reviews — it currently sits at a 62 on Metacritic. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
