“This Is Not GTA V 2.0”: GTA 6 Developers Are Doing Something Other Games Won’t Be Able to Match for Another 20 Years — Insider
Rockstar is renowned for the depth of its games and meticulous attention to detail.
While fans await Grand Theft Auto 6, players are sharing opinions about Rockstar Games’ new project, and some suggest it will simply be GTA V in a ‘2.0’ form.
Insider Kiwi Talkz disagreed with that perspective and said:
This is definitely not “GTA V 2.0,” and many people have no idea what they’re talking about. Some of the plans Rockstar has for GTA 6 that I’ve heard about are extremely ambitious, and it’s unlikely any other developer will be able to match what they’re building for the next 15–20+ years.
The insider didn’t delve into the studio’s specifics. Still, patents filed by Rockstar give a rough picture — mentions have included realistic character animation; technology for continuous level-of-detail; systems for world optimization; and AI-assisted motion capture integration.
GTA 6 is expected to launch in November 2026.
