The mystery has finally been unraveled: the concluding chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy is officially titled Final Fantasy VII: Revelation. In a surprising strategic shift, Square Enix has confirmed that this installment will enjoy a simultaneous global release across all major platforms, breaking away from the previous tradition of PlayStation exclusivity.

According to the development team, the core thematic pillar for Revelation is “resolve.” Beyond the narrative focus, developers teased an exciting new high-altitude traversal mechanic; players will now be able to skydive directly from their airship to the world below, facilitating seamless transitions without the need for loading screens.

Customization also receives a significant update, as characters will be able to equip a variety of new outfits and specialized armor sets, each designed to bolster their performance and combat capabilities during encounters.

Mark your calendars: Final Fantasy VII: Revelation is slated for launch in Spring 2027, arriving simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and the successor to the Nintendo Switch.
