New Pokémon Release Is a Must-Have for Every Eevee Fan

Despite boasting eight official evolutions, enthusiasts of Pokémon’s iconic Normal-type mascot often find themselves experiencing a curious drought. It has been a staggering 13 years since Game Freak last expanded the family tree in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Considering the franchise now features 18 standard elemental typings, fans have yet to witness even half of the potential concepts for new Eeveelutions—to say nothing of the fascinating possibilities should developers ever experiment with dual-type combinations.

While future mainline installments like Pokémon Winds and Waves might eventually introduce a fresh evolution, an official reveal remains a distant horizon. Rather than pinning their hopes on speculative releases, dedicated followers can dive into a remarkably ambitious passion project entitled Pokémon Oops! All Eevees.

True to its clever title, this ROM hack goes far beyond a simple reskin. While every traditional creature in the roster has been substituted with an Eeveelution variant, the mastermind behind the project, 999999999, has woven a massive array of custom designs into the journey. Players can encounter imaginative additions such as Fanteon, a spectral Ghost-type; Aeraerieon, a graceful Flying-type; and Aercampeon, a robust Fighting-type. The creator even explores multiple variations for pre-existing elemental types, complete with their own distinct evolutionary branches.

Altogether, Oops! All Eevees seamlessly integrates an astonishing 326 unique iterations into the foundation of Pokémon FireRed. For those curious about the sheer scale of the project, a showcase video highlighting every single monster in rapid succession clocks in at nearly forty minutes.

Quality-of-life adjustments abound: legacy Eeveelutions boast overhauled move pools, and Rare Candies are distributed liberally to bypass tedious leveling sessions. Furthermore, the experience introduces a completely revamped endgame designed to “put your knowledge of Eevees to the ultimate test.” Should hundreds of fuzzy companions still leave you wanting more, the game even offers customizable trainer outfits modeled after various evolutions, complete with a unique built-in mechanic that lets you transform your own protagonist.

Development is far from finished, either. 999999999 has lined up a substantial content patch slated for November 21—fittingly celebrated as Eevee Day in Japan—which will introduce expanded Pokédex entries alongside fresh overworld sprites.

Until then, there is more than enough content to keep completionists thoroughly occupied. The creator has playfully hinted on social media that players should investigate hidden corners, teasing, “Surely there aren’t any secret Eevees located anywhere, like under the Truck or in Cerulean Cave.” Another post reveals the inclusion of an omni-typed “Eevee god” that wields every elemental power simultaneously—and thrillingly, it isn’t even the final boss.

Early reception from the community has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic. One gratified player declared that Oops! All Eevees represents “everything I’ve ever wanted,” while others have already begun producing dedicated fan art to celebrate the project. Adventurous tamers can download and explore the adventure directly through the PokéCommunity forums.

Pokémon Winds and Waves could have the first new Eevee in over a decade

Game Freak has already considered a Flying-type Eevee, which would be thematically appropriate for the Switch 2 exclusives
