The Sims 4 rival won’t launch in 2025 — Paralives delayed just weeks before release

Further refinements to the game will not be completed this year.

Paralives, the life simulator, had been slated for release in December 2025. However, the team behind the competitor to The Sims 4 announced a postponement in mid‑November.

The developers explained that they need additional time to polish Paralives:

Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to postpone the release. We deeply regret announcing this at the last minute. After careful reflection, we believe this is the right choice for both the game and the community. Over the past year we ran numerous playtests with friends and fans and were confident we could make sufficient improvements by December. In the lead‑up to early access we expanded our testing to include a broader and more varied group of players, and the most recent feedback made it clear the game does not yet meet the standards we want for launch.

Following the tests, the team concluded that several systems in Paralives still require refinement: players praised the Paramaker character editor and the construction tools, but noted that “Live Mode still contains serious bugs and the town offers too few activities, which undermines player enjoyment.”

If there are no further delays, Paralives is now scheduled to enter Early Access on May 25, 2026.
