Super Mario Odyssey Gets a Full PC Port, No Emulator Required
Enthusiasts have released Power Moon Recomp, an unofficial PC port that lets players complete Super Mario Odyssey without an emulator. It requires a personal copy of the Nintendo Switch game.
The project is available to download for Windows and Linux. According to its creators, it covers the full adventure, from the first levels through the ending and post-story content.
The port was tested on a modern PC, where the game ran at 60 frames per second. Players can visit every kingdom, fight bosses, and play both standard levels and 2D stages styled after 8-bit games. A macOS version is currently unstable.
Graphics options include up to four times the rendering resolution and AMD FSR 1 for lower-end computers. The port supports keyboards, mice, and controllers, as well as mods that change costumes, models, textures, music, and levels.
Players need their own copy of Super Mario Odyssey version 1.0.0. Later updates are not supported. Users must prepare the game files themselves, after which the program checks them and builds the PC version.
Power Moon Recomp is an independent project unaffiliated with Nintendo. It can be downloaded from GitHub.
