The Odyssey Set to Overtake Deadpool & Wolverine as Highest-Grossing R-Rated Film
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has grossed nearly $1.3 billion worldwide during its first month in theaters, positioning it within striking distance of the all-time R-rated box office record.
The film has already become the highest-grossing release of Nolan’s career and is now close to surpassing Deadpool & Wolverine as the highest-grossing R-rated movie in history.
According to Box Office Mojo, the film generated $1.291 billion across 31 days of global release. North America accounted for $504.7 million of the total, while international markets contributed an additional $786.2 million.

Deadpool & Wolverine concluded its theatrical run with $1.338 billion, leaving The Odyssey roughly $47.1 million away from setting a new milestone. The film still has an opportunity to close the gap as its global run continues, having debuted in China on August 14.
