Wildflower Interactive — the studio founded by Naughty Dog veteran Bruce Straley — will premiere its first game at The Game Awards 2025.
Bruce Straley, a co-creator of The Last of Us and director on Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 4, will unveil a new game for the first time in nine years. Wildflower Interactive will show its debut project during The Game Awards 2025, scheduled for the night of December 11–12.
The reveal was accompanied by a brief teaser: the short clip depicts a painted forest and a bird perched on a signpost. Nothing else unfolds — only the Wildflower Interactive and The Game Awards logos appear at the end. While the title remains undisclosed, the footage hints at an intimate, hand-drawn project with cel-shaded visuals.
For Straley, this will be his first personal project since Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, released in 2016. After seventeen years at Naughty Dog he left the studio citing professional burnout and stepped away from the industry for several years. In 2022 he launched Wildflower Interactive, a small studio operating entirely remotely.
The team brings together veterans from Santa Monica Studio, Double Fine, and other well-known developers. According to Straley, Wildflower’s mission is to “bring joy and humanity back to the process of making games.”
