Helldivers 2 Developers Consider Game Mocking Artificial Intelligence
Arrowhead Creative Director Johan Pilestedt has not ruled out the possibility that the studio will develop a separate satirical game about an AI deity.
Pilestedt discussed the potential of creating a game that mocks generative artificial intelligence, emphasizing that the project should be amusing rather than bleak and will not be part of the Helldivers series.
AI has deserved parody since the 1980s, and I can easily imagine a game where you are stuck in a world with an AI overlord that is effectively a deity.
According to him, the studio’s need for robot enemies is already fulfilled by the Automatons from Helldivers 2. Therefore, an idea like this would require creating a new game.

Pilestedt also explained that while not everyone enjoys the satire in Helldivers, many players willingly lean into the joke.
Humor doesn’t hide the message, it delivers it.
