The inZOI Team’s Top Development Priorities

Happy Friday, everyone!

Today, I’m excited to share a roadmap of our development priorities, heavily influenced by the invaluable feedback you’ve provided. While we can’t fix every request overnight, we want to be transparent about our current focus and keep the dialogue with our community flowing.

We are prioritizing three core pillars for improvement:

  • Systemic Stability: Refining the core simulation and aggressively tackling bugs to ensure a smoother experience.
  • Interconnected Mechanics: Building more organic, logical bridges between family dynamics, education, personality traits, the economy, and interpersonal relationships.
  • Life Simulation Depth: Enriching the growth journey of newborns, toddlers, and children, while expanding family-oriented gameplay.

Our primary goal is to foster a more realistic, lifelike simulation where Zois feel like active participants in a living world. Here is how we are evolving those systems:

  • Educational Impact: Academic performance will now carry weight, influencing career trajectories, professional success, and business management.
  • Dynamic Relationships: Strained family ties will have tangible consequences, such as impacting academic output or triggering impulsive life decisions like quitting a job.
  • Personality-Driven Habits: A Zoi’s unique traits will manifest in their daily habits, dictating the frequency of their activities, such as fitness routines or reading.
  • Career Synergy: Financial success and workplace efficiency will depend on the alignment between a Zoi’s chosen career, their inherent skills, and their personality.
  • Long-term Growth: Experiences from early childhood will leave a lasting mark, shaping a Zoi’s identity through their transition into adolescence and adulthood.
  • Formative Memories: Traumatic or pleasant childhood experiences—particularly regarding food or accidents—may manifest as long-term phobias, aversions, or preferences.
  • Documenting Life: We are enhancing the memory and life history systems to provide a detailed, meaningful narrative behind every Zoi’s behavior.
  • Capturing Milestones: Important life events will be cataloged in the News Feed, and we’re adding tools to help you capture and preserve your favorite moments through in-game photography.

By interweaving these systems, we aim to craft a simulation where every Zoi’s journey is truly unique, shaped by the sum of their experiences and personal history.

Ongoing Stability and Bug Resolutions

Our team has been hard at work addressing technical hurdles this week. We are deeply grateful for your patience and ongoing support while we polish inZOI—your encouragement keeps us motivated to deliver the high-quality experience you deserve.

Our current stabilization efforts include fixes for:

  • Persistent crashes occurring during save file loading.
  • Infinite loading screens when navigating between members of larger households.
  • Crashes triggered during end-of-life events.
  • Glitches causing children to instantly display as high school graduates upon aging up.
  • Save-load errors affecting a Zoi’s current school enrollment.
  • Build-mode issues causing floor deletions based on wall orientation.
  • Walls disappearing or clipping after adjusting room layouts.
  • Hunger needs failing to satisfy while the Zoi is at home.
  • Stalled graduation ceremonies caused by the absence of faculty.

Your ongoing feedback is the heartbeat of our development process. We review every suggestion, and your insights are instrumental in shaping the future of the game.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Best,
kjun
