In a thrilling development for fans of Marvel’s street-level heroes, Mike Colter and Finn Jones are poised to step back into their roles as Luke Cage and Iron Fist for the third season of Daredevil: Born Again. This long-awaited homecoming was effectively confirmed by a series of leaked snapshots from the production’s New York City set, where filming for the Disney+ revival is currently in full swing.

The buzz reached a fever pitch on Friday when images surfaced showing Colter and Jones alongside Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones. Shortly after these photos began circulating, Entertainment Weekly corroborated the news, indicating that a comprehensive reunion of The Defenders is officially slated for the show’s third outing. While the evidence is mounting, Marvel Studios has maintained its typical silence regarding the leaks or the specifics of the actors’ involvement.

While the debut season of Daredevil: Born Again largely prioritized the solo journey of the Man Without Fear, the narrative landscape shifted with the announcement that Jessica Jones would reappear in season two. Her return immediately fueled speculation about the potential resurgence of other Netflix-era icons, and it appears those theories have finally been validated.

The core four—Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist—originally headlined their own distinct series throughout the mid-2010s before joining forces in the 2017 miniseries The Defenders. Following the conclusion of their respective shows in 2018, the future of these characters remained in limbo for years. While the recent set photos don’t give away the plot, they serve as definitive proof that the team is reuniting on screen once again.

Initial reports suggested Marvel was hesitant to lean too heavily on the Netflix continuity, but that stance has softened significantly. With the reintroduction of key supporting characters and legacy storylines, it is now clear that the events of the “Defenders-verse” are being fully woven into the fabric of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Although the third season remains deep in production and is a long way from its premiere, fans can currently enjoy the second season of Daredevil: Born Again as it airs weekly on Disney+. The series has already garnered critical acclaim, with critics praising its direction and describing it as Marvel’s most politically charged television entry to date.
