Players Spot Potential The Elder Scrolls VI Subtitle in 2023 Starfield Presentation

Some players prefer not to wait for official announcements from Bethesda Game Studios, choosing instead to decode the developers’ plans on their own.

Players recently revisited an old Starfield presentation following a comment from the head of Xbox regarding The Elder Scrolls VI.

Asha Sharma previously shared that she had the opportunity to play the new installment in the TES series. At the time, she appended a star-masked string to the game title as “TES VI: ********”. Many fans assumed this was a hint about the length of the subtitle and began building theories.

One of the most popular hypotheses is Sentinel, named after the Redguard city in The Elder Scrolls universe. Supporters of this theory found additional backing thanks to a discovery by user starfieldnovember, who noticed a string of numbers both in a six-year-old Starfield presentation and within the game itself.

According to the user, dividing the number sequence into pairs and matching each pair to a letter of the alphabet spells out “sentinel”:

During the Starfield Direct and in the final version of the game itself during character creation, you can see your number. At first glance it is a random sequence of numbers, but if you divide it into pairs and match each pair with the corresponding letter of the alphabet, you get the word SENTINEL. This clue was right in front of our noses for over three years and somehow we missed it.

In addition, proponents of the The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel theory have another argument. A Bethesda veteran joined one of the discussions and responded with a brief “yes” to a comment mentioning “sentinel”. Michael Kirkbride previously worked on TES IV: Oblivion and TES V: Skyrim.
