Developers Announce Playtest for Gothic 1 Remake Multiplayer Mode

Modders are developing a platform that will enable community servers for Gothic 1 Remake.

Gothic 1 Remake was released this summer. The single-player game was well-received by many, earning “very positive” reviews on Steam with an 88% rating, but some players wanted to travel together with friends.

This may become possible thanks to the fan project Gothic 1 Remake: Multiplayer, also known as G1R: MP. YouTube channel creator F0rtuno reported that a multiplayer game will arrive “soon.” The project serves as a base for custom servers, allowing Gothic fans to explore the Mining Valley together, form guilds, and travel.

The launch of the first alpha version of the Gothic 1 Remake multiplayer is scheduled for this month. Modders warn players against having high expectations, noting that the early alpha build is not intended as a final multiplayer platform featuring every function, but rather as an important milestone in the project’s development. Bugs and imperfections may occur.

The Gothic 1 Remake fan multiplayer does not yet have a specific release date. The project files are expected to be published publicly after network synchronization stability tests are completed.
