Enthusiast Reports 40% Performance Boost in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Using AI
A modder who goes by LTSharpe26 has released a free performance fix for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. No official patch has appeared yet, but PC players now have an alternative.
Bethesda Game Studios and Virtuos haven’t released patches for last year’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered in a long time, so various enthusiasts have tried to fix the game themselves. LTSharpe26 recently decided to use artificial intelligence to optimize the game and remove some of its bugs.
LTSharpe26 said that, “under his guidance,” the AI model Claude (Anthropic) did all the reverse engineering and programming work, while the modder tested the results himself. About 40 issues were fixed in total. For example, some processes were originally handled within a single thread or frame. Now certain tasks are distributed across several cores and frames. These changes should not affect gameplay or graphics, but they should have a positive effect on FPS.
According to LTSharpe26, the result is a significant performance improvement in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. In the open world, the average gain is 37%, and some scenes show an FPS increase of more than 40%.

The “Oblivion Remastered Performance Fix” mod for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is available for free on Nexus Mods.
