Tempest Rising, Command & Conquer’s Successor, Gets a Superweapon — Orbital Strikes and More Revealed
Fans have long been asking for features like this to be added to the game.
The team behind the real-time strategy Tempest Rising has begun teasing its next major update. Responding to community requests, they’re preparing to add a superweapon to the battlefield.
The Global Defense Forces faction will gain a strike-drone station:
Once completed, it grants an extensive radius of vision, allowing the GDF to widen its information superiority across the battlefield.
Players will be able to call strikes on specified coordinates: turret drones will crash down, dealing impact damage and then opening fire.
The Tempest Dynasty will receive a siege vehicle known as the Excavator Platform: it can burrow to deliver units and can also trigger seismic attacks.
Once constructed, the Dynasty can deploy assault squads of up to 18 units inside massive armored landing capsules. These pods can launch underground, tunnel beneath enemy forces and fortifications, surface behind them, and disgorge troops for a sudden strike.
