Takopi’s Original Sin Anime Film Sets November Release Date in New Trailer
The 2025 sci-fi drama anime series is heading to the big screen with a feature-length compilation movie.
Titled Takopi’s Original Sin: Thank You, See You Tomorrow, the film will premiere in Japanese theaters on November 27, 2026.
The feature will combine all six episodes of the original series along with new scenes that expand the storyline. The runtime and the total amount of additional footage have not been announced yet.
Takopi’s Original Sin follows an alien named Takopi, who travels from the Happy Planet to Earth to spread joy. After arriving, he meets Shizuka, a schoolgirl suffering from severe bullying and domestic abuse. Takopi tries to help her, but his lack of understanding of human psychology and the complexity of relationships leads to unforeseen consequences.
Studio ENISHIYA is producing the film. Director and head writer Shinya Iino is returning to helm the project, while Kurumi Mamiya and Reina Ueda will reprise their respective voice roles as Takopi and Shizuka.
