Surprise Game Giveaway Begins on PlayStation Store

Some players have managed to add Journey to their collections.

In October, players noticed another oddity in the operation of the PlayStation Store as a free giveaway of Journey began in certain regions.

Users observed that Journey Collector’s Edition became available for free. Meanwhile, in several regions such as the United Kingdom, the game is currently sold at a discount. Because there were no official announcements regarding a giveaway, players believe this is simply a bug.

In the store, Journey is described as “a unique game that has won the hearts of critics and users.” Players are invited to cross vast deserts and uncover the secrets of a long-lost civilization.

The page for Journey Collector’s Edition is available at the following link. There is no information about a promotion on the game’s store page. As reported, users from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates can claim the game to their accounts. When attempting to exploit the loophole from other regions, funds may be charged from the account.

Notably, another “giveaway” previously occurred on the PlayStation Store. Some users were able to secure the shooter Call of Duty: WWII, as well as the open-world action game Mafia III: Definitive Edition—an edition that includes all previously released add-ons.
