Paramount Developing Cyberpunk 2077 Spinoff Produced by Transformers Producer

Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 appear to have another story set in the game’s universe on the way.

According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures is developing a live-action film set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. CD Projekt RED and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, known for his work on the Transformers franchise, will serve as producers.

This is believed to be the same project that CD Projekt RED announced back in 2023. At the time, the studio’s partner was Anonymous Content, known for the television series True Detective and Mr. Robot. The creators planned to tell an original story within the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, meaning the film will not retell the game’s plot if the original plans remain unchanged.

Deadline has not yet disclosed any further details. The names of the director and screenwriter, the cast, and the release date remain unknown.

Meanwhile, the second season of the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will release on Netflix on October 20, telling a new standalone story in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe.
