“Superbad” director may helm Bane film

Greg Mottola, best known for directing Superbad, has emerged as the frontrunner to helm an upcoming DC project centered on the iconic villains Bane and Deathstroke. While no formal deal has been finalized and the project remains in the early conceptual stages, active negotiations are currently underway.
Should the project move forward, this feature will be integrated into the revitalized DC Universe currently being developed under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Reports suggest that the screenplay is being penned by Matthew Orton, who previously contributed to the writing team for Marvel’s Moon Knight.
It is worth noting that Bane’s most recent major cinematic appearance was in The Dark Knight Rises, where he was portrayed by Tom Hardy.
