Cast Announced for ‘Fourth Wing’ Fantasy Adaptation

Esther McGregor (known for “We Were Liars”) and Emilio Sakraya (“Tribes of Europa”) have been tapped to headline the television adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’s acclaimed fantasy novel, “Fourth Wing.”

McGregor is set to star as the protagonist Violet Sorrengail, a cadet navigating the perilous Basgiath War College, an elite training ground for dragon riders. Sakraya will portray her complex love interest and eventual partner, Xaden Riorson.

The series, currently slated for a five-season run, will debut on Prime Video. Meredith Averill (“Anne with an E”) has been tapped as showrunner, while the pilot episode will be helmed by Lisa Joy, celebrated for her work on “Westworld” and “Fallout.” Additionally, Michael B. Jordan (“Sinners”) is attached as an executive producer.

While an official release date has yet to be announced, the project is generating significant buzz. McGregor’s previous credits include “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” where she appeared alongside her father, Ewan McGregor, and “Bad Girl,” while Sakraya is recognized for his roles in the German feature “Rheingold” and the series “Warrior Nun.”
