Steven Soderbergh to Direct Batman Sequel
Director Steven Soderbergh is stepping in to assist Matt Reeves during the final weeks of production for The Batman Part II, according to reports from Deadline citing Warner Bros.
Reeves had previously stepped away from the set following a family tragedy. While filming was initially put on hold with no clear timeline for resumption, Soderbergh will now oversee the remaining production, allowing Reeves to focus his attention on the film’s post-production phase.
The sequel stars Robert Pattinson, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, and Colin Farrell, among others. The film is currently slated for a February 2028 release. Soderbergh’s most recent project, the comedy The Christophers, premiered earlier this spring.
