Super Meat Boy 3D Coming to Switch 2: New Version Confirmed
Super Meat Boy 3D is expanding its horizons. Developers have officially confirmed that the title will launch not only on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC but will also arrive on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
The global release across all platforms is currently slated for 2026. Furthermore, the project is scheduled to debut as part of the Xbox Game Pass library.
This latest entry evolves the franchise’s legendary hardcore platforming formula into a fully realized 3D environment. Fans can expect the return of frame-perfect jumps, a high death count, and the series’ signature irreverent humor. The objective remains a classic: rescue Bandage Girl from the clutches of the nefarious Dr. Fetus while navigating a gauntlet of lethal obstacles, including spinning sawblades, crumbling caverns, and incinerated forests.
Steve Marois of Despised Icon has lent his talents to the soundtrack, reportedly spending two years perfecting a single track. The creators are promising a high skill ceiling, formidable boss encounters, punishing “Dark World” levels, and a wealth of hidden secrets. A fresh trailer showcasing the gameplay on Switch 2 hardware has recently premiered online.
