The concluding season of Stranger Things is almost here. Netflix will drop the first installment of season 5 — marketed as Volume 1 — on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, just in time for Thanksgiving. Ahead of that release, the official trailer for Volume 1 has arrived, and it delivers in full force.
The teaser finds the Hawkins kids bracing for a final showdown with Vecna, but the stakes feel higher: the Upside Down is rupturing into our world. A portal opens and an onslaught of Demogorgons spills through, hunting the characters and even trapping them inside a labyrinth of caves.
Unexpectedly, Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) steps into a commanding role, coordinating plans and leading missions alongside Steve and the rest of the group. He solemnly declares, “I want to see Vecna’s heart on a platter.” It’s a stark contrast to the kid who once crooned the theme from The NeverEnding Story over a ham radio with his girlfriend. Adult guidance appears limited in the trailer: Hopper (David Harbour) surfaces briefly beside Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Joyce (Winona Ryder) is noticeably absent from key moments, and Murray Bauman (Brett Gelman) largely fills the role of loud accomplice and driver.
Netflix premiered the trailer at its One Last Bike Ride event on Sunday in Los Angeles. The celebration closed Melrose Ave. to cars so attendees could walk, run, skate, and ride while enjoying games, contests, a live performance — and the trailer debut on the main stage.
