How STL Uses ETS2 to Support Dutch Logistics Students
Sectorinstituut Transport en Logistiek, usually shortened to STL, supports recruitment, education and long-term employability in the Dutch transport and logistics sector. Its collaboration with SCS Software gives eligible students a copy of Euro Truck Simulator 2 while STL guides them through a real work-study route.
What the ETS2 offer includes
Students who register for a BBL transport or logistics program through STL can receive Euro Truck Simulator 2 as part of the welcome offer. SCS’s March 2025 community story described the game as a Steam code that students can use themselves.
ETS2 is not presented as a formal course or a substitute for professional instruction. Its role is to provide an accessible virtual introduction to road transport alongside the student’s actual education, workplace experience and required training.
How the BBL route works
STL connects students with suitable schools and employers and provides personal guidance. Its current BBL information explains that participants learn mainly at a real company, receive a salary and normally attend classes at a regional training center one day each week. The offer also lists driving-lesson support, safety training and help finding a training company.
The SCS interview described a two-year education-and-work program. Exact course length, benefits and eligibility can vary, so applicants should use STL’s current registration page rather than relying only on the 2025 announcement.
Who STL supports
STL was created by organizations representing employers and employees in Dutch transport and logistics. Its services cover students entering vocational education, workers developing their skills and employers seeking recruitment and training support. The institute’s broader goal is to increase entry into the sector and help trained people stay healthy, safe and employable.
