Move over remakes; Spyro: A Realm Beyond is officially set to chart a fresh course for the iconic purple dragon. Rather than revisiting classic territories, this all-new entry finds Spyro cast away into an mysterious, uncharted dimension. As he navigates this alien landscape, players must help him find his way back home while mounting a defense against the Scavs, a relentless invading force threatening this strange new world.
While the initial reveal featured a cinematic, pre-rendered sequence to set the tone, the subsequent gameplay snippets offer an exciting glimpse of what’s to come. Most notably, the title appears to lean heavily into fluid, freeform aerial traversal, suggesting that soaring through the skies will be central to the experience.
Fans won’t have to wait too long to spread their wings; Spyro: A Realm Beyond is slated to launch in Spring 2027. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, PC, the successor to the Nintendo Switch, and Xbox—with a day-one inclusion on Game Pass.
