Spike Chunsoft Reveals Six Minutes of Gameplay for Updated Danganronpa 2×2
The acclaimed visual novel from Kazutaka Kodaka and Spike Chunsoft is returning in 2026 as an expanded remake featuring a brand-new storyline.
At the Danganronpa 15th Anniversary Fes: Ultimate Appreciation Festival — an event marking the series’ 15th year — Spike Chunsoft revealed six minutes of gameplay for Danganronpa 2×2, the refreshed take on the beloved visual novel.
The excerpt shown (from 36:28 to 42:44) is taken from a demo build of Danganronpa 2×2 available at the offline event. The same segment is expected to be released later on Steam as a demo.
Spike Chunsoft stresses that Danganronpa 2×2 is a fully standalone story, comparable in scope to the original. The project will also include a remaster of Goodbye Despair with upgraded visuals and a modernized interface.
Danganronpa 2×2 is scheduled for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC (Steam).
