Sony Faces New Wave of PS5 Account Hacks as Some Users Lose Access to Libraries
PlayStation players continue to face account takeovers, resulting in the loss of access to purchased games, DLC, save data, and trophies. Blogger and insider RealRadec stated, “This needs to change.”
Several days ago, blogger RealRadec, who has over 30,000 followers on X, had his account compromised, though he managed to recover access. The creator acknowledged that his fame and connections helped resolve the issue quickly.
I have my account back. […] It would be unreasonable of me not to acknowledge that this was resolved as quickly as it was because of the position I hold. Not many people have that kind of leverage, and I am fully aware of that.
This is a problem that has been brewing at PlayStation for a long time. Nobody deserves to have their account stolen and be locked out of all their games, DLC, saved data, trophies, and so on. It is unfair.
This needs to change.
A similar incident previously happened to blogger Colin Moriarty, who was also helped by his connections. Based on the described cases, attackers use social engineering and may attempt to gain access by using a PSN name, linked email, and purchase details.

Amid the growth of digital libraries, the issue is becoming more severe: an account hack can lead to the loss of a game collection worth thousands of dollars.
