Original Metroid Prime Ported to Android and PC Without Emulator
Modders continue to bring classic console games to modern devices.
An enthusiast known as Odrannnn has released an unofficial native port of Metroid Prime for Android, Windows, and Linux. The project is based on the decompilation of the original GameCube game and runs without an emulator.
On Android, the port features touch controls with motion aiming by dragging a finger across the screen. Weapons and visors can be switched via radial menus, while the map can be moved, scaled, and rotated using gestures.
The port supports widescreen displays, custom fields of view, mods, and save file transfers from Dolphin. The frame rate is uncapped, but the game logic runs at a fixed rate so physics and animations maintain their original speed. Players can also skip cutscenes and enable specific mechanical tweaks, including a faster transformation for Samus into the Morph Ball.

Running the game on a smartphone requires a device with Android 9 or newer and ARM64 support. In addition, the user needs their own ROM dump of the US version of Metroid Prime 1.00 for GameCube.
