The Detective Is Already Dead Season 2 Gets New Poster Ahead of Premiere
The continuation of the light novel adaptation by Nigozyu premieres today, October 7.
The second season of The Detective Is Already Dead anime starts airing today, October 7. New episodes will be available on Crunchyroll simultaneously with the Japanese broadcast, which takes place at 3:30 PM Moscow time. Before the season premiere, the creators released a new poster and previously shared a preview of the first episode titled “See You Again”.

The continuation returns to the story of Kimihiko, the former assistant to the detective Siesta. Together they traveled the world for three years and investigated dangerous cases until a routine encounter resulted in the girl’s death. A year later, a new assignment forces Kimihiko to take up investigations once again and try to uncover the circumstances of his partner’s death. As the official synopsis states: “The detective is already dead. The truth about her death has been revealed. But it is still too early for the epilogue.”
Studio ENGI is returning to handle the production. The first season was released in 2021. The anime is based on the light novel series by Nigozyu with illustrations by Umibozu, which has been published since November 2019.
