Ghost Reaper Boy Manga Adaptation Scheduled for 2027 Release
One of the main characters cannot see spirits, but knows how to swallow them whole.
The Phantom Busters manga by creator Neoshoco will receive a television anime adaptation premiering in 2027. To celebrate the announcement, Neoshoco prepared a teaser illustration, thanked readers, and explained why they are particularly excited about the adaptation:
“I feel like Phantom Busters is the kind of story whose humor will stand out even more in animation, so as the author I am truly happy that this adaptation has become a reality! Please look forward to seeing the members of Phantom Busters come to life on screen and start having fun!”

The story follows Yujin, an honor student who does not believe in ghosts, and his classmate Mogari, an exorcist capable of swallowing spirits whole. Mogari himself cannot see ghosts, so the characters must team up with someone who has that ability and form a school exorcism club.
The manga has been published in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine since August 2023. Its total circulation, including digital editions, has exceeded 1.4 million copies. The exact premiere date, studio, and production team for the anime have not yet been revealed.
