Sony Announces Release Date for Pokémon Competitor Aniimo Before GTA VI
The free-to-play game Aniimo, which is called a potential competitor to Pokémon, will launch on September 16, 2026.
Aniimo is a free-to-play game with a focus on story and co-op that will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and smartphones.
Sony is actively promoting the project and offering pre-orders for Aniimo on the PlayStation Store. The company handled another Chinese free-to-play game, NTE, in a similar way.
The PS Store revealed the release date for Aniimo. The project will arrive on September 16, 2026, which is earlier than GTA VI.
Starter bundles are also planned, but players can enjoy the game without spending any money.
Aniimo received positive reviews during beta testing. Some players stated that the game is capable of “destroying” Nintendo’s Pokémon. How justified these expectations are will become clear in September.
