Sony and Bungie Give In: Marathon Plagiarism Dispute Ruled in Author’s Favor

Comment Views: 21

Artist N² / ANTIREAL announced that her dispute with Bungie and Sony over alleged plagiarism in Marathon has been resolved in her favor.

She had earlier accused the studio of using her 2017 posters without permission in the game’s alpha build. The artist posted online that the matter has been settled. The terms of the agreement remain confidential, though the statement implies there was compensation or another mutually acceptable resolution.

The controversy began after N² published evidence of the unauthorized use of her work. Bungie reviewed the allegations, acknowledged the plagiarism, and identified the employee responsible for transferring the images. The studio also pledged to make amends and stressed its intention to respect the rights of independent creators.

The dispute is now closed and attention has shifted to the project’s ongoing development.
