SOMBRAS: negative frames brings photography horror to PC and consoles in 2026

Maboroshi Artworks and Entalto Publishing have revealed SOMBRAS: negative frames, a first-person narrative horror game built around photography. The game is scheduled for Q4 2026 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The story follows Shiomi Alterio, a Japanese-Spanish photography student living with her father in a Japanese town after her parents’ divorce. One night she is pulled into a dark mirror version of that town, where familiar streets, hungry shadows and alternate versions of herself turn memory into a threat.

Photography is the central interaction. Players take pictures of unusual sights, develop film rolls, collect occult objects and use inspiration to improve the camera. Progress comes through strange doors, unsettling encounters and fragments of Shiomi’s broken self.

The game comes from the creator of Last Time I Saw You, with Entalto Publishing handling the release. The announcement includes a trailer, Steam page, website and press kit.
