Slow Horses star eyed for James Bond role
Jack Lowden, best known for his role in the hit series Slow Horses, has emerged as a serious contender for the coveted role of the next James Bond.
This endorsement comes from acclaimed British author Richard Osman, the mastermind behind the bestseller The Thursday Murder Club.
“It’s certainly not a done deal, but his name is definitely in the mix. I believe he would be a fantastic choice,”
Osman remarked during an episode of his podcast, The Rest is Entertainment.
Previously, Bond franchise producer Amy Pascal hinted that the identity of the new 007 would be unveiled by the end of the year. The unofficial shortlist already features high-profile names such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jacob Elordi, and Callum Turner.
The upcoming installment is set to be helmed by director Denis Villeneuve (Dune), with distribution handled by Amazon MGM Studios.
Lowden’s impressive filmography includes appearances in Dunkirk and Mary Queen of Scots. Looking ahead, he is slated to star as Mr. Darcy in Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Pride and Prejudice in 2026, while the sixth season of Slow Horses is expected to premiere on Apple TV this autumn.
